Betty Jane
Betty Jane is the inspired creation of singer, songwriter and pianist, Britta Lee from the “big sky” of Montana. The core trio consists of Britta Lee (keys, vocals), Rob Kohler (bass) and Tim Lashley (drums) with a number of guest instrumentalists. Betty Jane cleverly fuses popular music with sophisticated jazz harmonies and exciting funk rhythms. Their wide range of originals combined with re-imagined pop favorites make for a one of a kind concert experience.
“Electric City Creative, founded by local couple Sara and Tyson Habein, has been working for several years to provide Great Falls with diverse and affordable entertainment options. They have organized everything from open mic events and story slams to shows featuring nationally-touring musicians from a variety of genres. Their Magnificent Seven showcase featured not just musical acts, but also poets, writers and visual artists from Great Falls and the surrounding area. You could say the Habeins know the Great Falls music scene pretty well, so it’s only natural that they would want to honor the hardworking people who make this city a fun place to hang out. To that end, they have organized the Magnificent Awards set to take place Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Celtic Cowboy.”

“Local pianist, composer and vocalist Britta Lee has released a music video titled “Montana Girl” under the stage name Betty Jane. Released Aug. 18, the video begins with scenes of Lee playing piano in Paris Gibson Square and progresses with her in scenes in wheat fields near Fort Benton and the cliffs of Sluice Boxes State Park. The Sluice Boxes scenes include dynamic aerial shots taken with drones. The audio and video production is excellent. Lee says “Montana Girl” was inspired by the contrasting geography she experienced crossing the Montana border into another state on a road trip. She notes that the song honors the beauty of Montana, while recognizing it as a place of renewal and also invoking a sense of home.”
